In Murchison

Internet is not so fast here in Murchison....Sorry if the pictures are round the wrong way, the internet place won't let me rotate them....

So I've picked up a car, gone to Dunedin to pick up a boat, picked up another boat in Christchurch, and am now in Murch. It's varying between sunny, cloudy, rainy etc, usually within the same hour.

So far we have a paddled some of the Buller, Matakitaki and Glenroy. The Glenroy is my favourite, which is why I've done it the most I imagine. Yesterday me and Charles the french man paddled it with a group of paddlers that had a truly international flavour - Me (Aussie) Charles (French), a Japanese dude, two germans and a Kiwi. It turns out the Japanese dude was a bit crazy (thought he could paddle the rapid that was completely obstructed by a log = death) - luckily we stopped him from doing this. The Germans were typically german too - the Father recognised that his lifejacket was crap so had hired himself a nice one from the Kayak school. He also had a creekboat. The lifejacket was however, good enough for his daughter, who also made do with a bike helmet and tiny playboat that she had never paddled before....
